Magomed Kurbanov is a Russian freestyle wrestler from Dagestan (Zibirhali village, Botlikh district), International Master of Sports of Russia. Started wrestling at age 8 in his home village, moved to Khasavyurt where he trains at the renowned Shamil Umkhanov sports school under Gadji Rashidov. One of the leaders of the Russian national team in heavyweight divisions and long-time Olympic license contender.
